Even the basic monolithic design of KIMLA laser cutting systems shows the focus on the perfect stability of the machine and thus on precision in the results. For example, there are no bolted elements in the machine frame and the entire frame has a parallelism of 0.01 mm. Thanks to the highly stable construction, the machine is low in vibration, so that more accurate laser cutting results are possible. In addition, no foundation is required on site when installing the machine. The high productivity due to the massive acceleration and speed values is complemented by high productivity when loading and unloading the machine quickly. By arranging multiple doors around the machine, users can reach the work area by hand, regardless of the location of the intervention, without lasers, folding guides or covers getting in the way.
KIMLA laser cutting machines have magnetic linear drives, there is no longer a mechanical transmission and therefore significantly lower resistances. Together with brake energy recovery on the drives, energy savings of up to 70% compared to conventional drive types are possible. In addition, the laser cutting systems have an absolute position reading. The position of the drives is read on the basis of microbarcodes with 1nm resolution, which are engraved on invar tape along each machine axis. As a result, KIMLA systems no longer require a reference run after start-up and yet deliver unsurpassed precision work results.
Thanks to the perfect balance of stability (or jerking behavior) and speed (or accelerations) in the drives, KIMLA laser cutting systems have unique machine dynamics. Accelerations and jerking behavior become a decisive factor for the ultimate processing quality, especially when cutting fine shapes quickly. Even under very high linear, accelerated and centrifugal loads, the drive train and machine design work together in such a way that extremely stable behavior is guaranteed. This makes accelerations of up to 6g possible. At KIMLA, high-speed and the highest, reproducible quality go hand in hand. Even with strong accelerations, there is no jerking and no offset. Many manufacturers offer speeds similar to KIMLA, but the results result in much poorer precision due to unbalanced machine dynamics.
The control controllers of KIMLA laser cutting machines are offset-free. Position, speed and acceleration signals are sent simultaneously by the CNC controller. Many controllers only create signal frequencies of 2kHz. KIMLA controllers, on the other hand, transmit at a 10x higher setting frequency (20kHz), which means that there are no delays in machine control. Even at maximum speeds and accelerations, users have a zero value offset and thus achieve the most accurate cutting results. Thanks to optimized CAD/CAM nesting, the machine always performs automatic drawing post-processing when uploading CAD. For example, it closes open circles and replaces broken edges.
KIMLA uses high-performance fiber lasers. These are 10x more efficient than conventional lasers and have an efficiency of over 30%. Not only the environment, but also your wallet. In order to achieve this efficiency, KIMLA laser cutting systems rely on beam focusing and shorter light wavelengths on the one hand; this enables a higher energy concentration in the laser beam and the separation gap during cutting becomes finer. Cutting narrower gaps requires less energy, but at the same time, the higher precision requires less selective energy and can be cut up to 5 times faster.
In addition, KIMLA processing optics use their own control module, which measures the material distance 20,000x/sec and adjusts the height of the laser head relative to the material to guarantee maximum precision and the best work results.
KIMLA laser cutting systems can be equipped with a variety of optional extensions to increase the level of automation during laser cutting. An automatic two-pallet changing table forms the basis of the options; a system with three pallets is also possible. The innovative KIMLA Storesystem loading and unloading system consists of an automated loading and unloading system that is connected to a storage area for unprocessed and finished sheets. In addition, KIMLA laser cutting systems offer further automation options such as a nozzle change system, a scan head measuring probe, an ink print head or extensions for cutting pipes and profiles.
Our interchangeable tables for KIMLA laser cutting systems were developed in close cooperation with our customers to drastically reduce set-up times and optimize the production flow. Thanks to the modular design, the entire cutting table unit is replaced within a few seconds without interrupting the cutting process.
While the laser cutting system continues to run, the removed table can be cleaned, maintained and prepared outside the machine area. This saves time, prevents production downtimes and ensures consistently high cutting quality. Especially for intensive cutting applications where cutting residues are deposited on the teeth, this system offers an efficient solution for long-lasting and precise sheet metal processing.
With ASKIAS interchangeable tables, KIMLA laser cutting systems remain consistently ready for use — for maximum machine availability and cost-effective production.
The honeycomb table with aluminum honeycomb structure is the ideal solution for precise processing of thin sheet and electrical sheet. The specially developed vacuum system securely fixes the material during the cutting process, which prevents deformations and ensures a perfectly flat surface. This stabilization is essential for the finest cutting contours and maximum dimensional accuracy for thin materials of less than 0.05 mm to 1 mm.
Another advantage of this system is the modular interchangeability of the honeycomb modules. In the event of deposits or wear, the modules can be quickly removed, cleaned outside the machine and then reused without interrupting production. As a result, cutting processes remain stable, efficient and reproducible.
The combination of precise material fixation, ease of cleaning and quick replaceability makes the honeycomb table the ideal choice for anyone who expects the highest quality and efficiency in electrical and thin sheet metal production.
