KIMLA Laser Cutting Machines

Three sizes – thousands of applications.

KIMLA laser cutting systems impress in every performance class: monolithic design, magnetic linear drives and a specially developed fiber laser control ensure precise, reproducible results. As an exclusive German sales partner, we work with a KIMLA laser cutting machine ourselves and contribute our practical experience from daily operations.

KIMLA Laser Cutting Machines

The right system for your application.

Its modular design with 3–5 axes, which can be operated manually via joystick in combination with a teach-in function and CNC control, makes this laser welding system the benchmark in laser welding technology.

Advantages of
KIMLA laser cutting machines

Our laser systems offer you real added value every day.
Here are six key advantages that make our systems an indispensable tool in your manufacturing.

Machine construction

The monolithic basic structure ensures maximum stiffness and minimal vibrations, and the basis for precise laser cutting even at high accelerations.

Coordinated components

Magnetic linear drives and brake energy recovery on the drives allow energy consumption to be reduced by up to 70%.

Accelerations up to 6g

Thanks to perfectly coordinated machine dynamics, KIMLA laser cutting systems achieve accelerations of up to 6g without loss of precision, even with complex contours.

Powerful software

The offset-free CNC control with automatic drawing post-processing prevents errors and provides clean cutting results, even with demanding geometries.

Own laser control

Developed specifically for fiber lasers: The controller optimizes travel paths and speeds for the highest cutting quality without sacrificing precision or dynamics.

ergonomics

Several large-format doors and optional interchangeable tables allow quick access and rapid loading and unloading, for short set-up times and maximum machine availability.

Don't trust the sales force, trust the users.

We know that genuine conviction comes from experience, not from extravagant advertising promises.
That's why we let customers and users tell us how our laser systems enrich their production processes every day.

Sturdy basic structure for precise laser cutting

The monolithic frame of a KIMLA laser cutting machine is made of one piece, without screwed elements, with a parallelism of 0.01 mm over the entire length of the machine. This highly rigid, low-vibration base is the basis for precise laser cutting even at high accelerations. There is no need for complex foundations on site.

  • Doors on all sides for quick, unrestricted access to the work area
  • No offset, no vibrations, even with maximum machine dynamics
  • Optional interchangeable tables reduce set-up times to a minimum

Coordinated components for maximum efficiency

KIMLA laser cutting systems use magnetic linear drives without mechanical gears, which eliminates frictional losses and significantly reduces energy consumption. For position detection, microbarcodes with 1 nm resolution are engraved on Invar tape along each machine axis, making a reference run after takeoff unnecessary. All components are coordinated and developed from a single source.

  • Braking energy recovery reduces energy consumption by up to 70% compared to conventional drives
  • Absolute position reading with 1 nm resolution for exact position values at any time without a reference run
  • ERP connection optional from Flashcut, standard from Powercut

Acceleration up to 6g without loss of precision

What distinguishes KIMLA laser cutting systems is not the maximum speed alone, but the precision with which this speed is achieved. The drive train and machine design are coordinated in such a way that accelerations of up to 6 g are possible without jerking or misalignment. Other systems achieve similar peak values but lose cutting quality due to unbalanced machine dynamics.

  • Accelerations of up to 6g without loss of precision, even with complex contours
  • No jerking, no offset in case of abrupt changes of direction
  • Highest reproducible cutting quality even in series production

Powerful software

The CNC control system of KIMLA laser cutting systems works offset-free: position, speed and acceleration are simultaneously transmitted to the drives, without delays in the control loop. The CAD/CAM/nesting system is available directly at the machine terminal, without an external workstation. When uploading CAD files, the controller automatically post-processes the drawing.

  • Offset-free control for maximum contour accuracy even with maximum dynamics
  • Automatic correction of CAD errors during upload: open circles, faulty edges
  • CAD/CAM/nesting directly at the terminal, without an external workstation

Fiber laser technology for low operating costs

KIMLA uses high-performance fiber lasers with an efficiency of over 30%, compared to around 5% for CO2 lasers. The shorter light wavelength enables a higher energy concentration in the beam, a finer separation gap and significantly higher cutting speeds. This significantly reduces operating costs per component compared to older laser technology.

  • Efficiency over 30%, around six times higher than comparable CO2 lasers
  • Up to five times faster cutting speed for thin materials
  • Material distance measurement 20,000 times per second for consistent cutting quality across the entire table surface

Automated sheet metal processing

KIMLA laser cutting systems can be configured in various levels of automation, from simple single-table systems to fully automated production systems. The basis is an automatic two-pallet changing table, which enables loading and unloading without machine downtime. The KIMLA store system is available for complete production automation.

  • Automatic two or three-pallet changing table as the basis for automation
  • KIMLA store system: fully automated loading and unloading with attached sheet metal warehouse
  • Other options: nozzle change system, scan head measurement probe, ink print head, pipe and profile cutting

Changeable tables for uninterrupted series production

The ASKIAS interchangeable tables for KIMLA laser cutting systems were developed in close coordination with customers from series production. The entire cutting table unit is replaced in just a few seconds while the machine continues to run. The removed table can be cleaned, maintained and prepared for the next use in parallel.

  • Change the table unit in seconds without interrupting the ongoing cutting process
  • Cleaning and maintenance of the table outside the machine, no forced production stop
  • Maximum machine availability, even in intensive cutting applications with a high amount of slag

Honeycomb tables for electric and thin sheet

ASKIAS and KIMLA have jointly developed a honeycomb table with an aluminum honeycomb structure and an integrated vacuum system for laser cutting thin sheet and electrical sheet with a material thickness of 0.05 mm or more. The vacuum fixes the material flat and securely over the entire table surface, without mechanical clamping. Plane-layer fixing is the prerequisite for the finest cutting contours and maximum dimensional accuracy, as required when cutting rotor and stator plates.

  • Vacuum fixing from 0.05 mm material thickness: safe, flat, without risk of deformation
  • Optimized for electrical sheet applications: rotor plates, stator plates, transformer sheets
  • Honeycomb modules can be removed and cleaned individually without interrupting production
